Our Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, hear our prayer:

Please weave the women of St. Raphael into a beautiful tapestry of faith and friendship. Let us be woven by your Holy Spirit with our eyes and hearts set upon Christ our Savior. Help us shine with the light of Christ and draw souls to Jesus. We ask this in the name of Jesus, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Amen.

The Crucifixion of our Lord

Our friend reminds us that 'in loving the cross, we live'

For the Sake of His Sorrowful Passion: The Crucifixion of our Lord

United with His Passion, Jesus is crucified at the place of the Skull,
I approach Him trembling in horror at the sight of sins result.
Nailed to the cross, Jesus suffers agony with every breath,
Desperate for His pain to end, I pray for the relief of death.
For us, Jesus perseveres to complete the will of The Father,
In the comfort of my sorrow I give Him everything I can offer.
The cross becomes a throne from which purity and forgiveness flow,
By the frailty of His humanity so that in holiness we may grow.

With His Body, Jesus secures the bitterness of sin to a tree,
Beside the dying Lord, I stand in the sweetness of His mercy.

Loving Jesus pleads to The Father for sins to be erased,
And the freedom of forgiveness to be shared through God’s amazing grace.
Hopeful Jesus assures the penitent thief the coming joy of heaven,
And that God is merciful and faithful to wash away transgression.
Compassionate Jesus shares His mother’s pain and sorrow too,
And ensures that His disciple will be there to see her through.
Forsaken Jesus endures an agony worse than physical pain,
As He takes the penalty of sin upon Himself for our eternal gain.
Longing Jesus cries out for every soul with an ardent need,
That we may be filled with living water and in Him always believe.
Grateful Jesus fulfills scripture and finishes the work of salvation,
To save the souls of all mankind through His own condemnation.
Trusting Jesus releases His spirit into The Father’s hands,
With confidence that beyond this death is a good and perfect plan.

Then Jesus takes His last breath and His head collapses; I fall to the ground,
And in gratitude and grief that He suffers no more, I cry out loud.
With the sadness comes light, quiet rejoicing, and sweet serenity,
My heart consoled that humble Jesus is Christ fully in His Divinity.
He died in loving the cross and in loving the cross we live,
Adoring, in Christ, His sorrowful Passion by the love and mercy we give.
His wondrous cross, a shrine of surrender for every care and worry,
With trust in God that every circumstance is for His everlasting glory.
