Our Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, hear our prayer:

Please weave the women of St. Raphael into a beautiful tapestry of faith and friendship. Let us be woven by your Holy Spirit with our eyes and hearts set upon Christ our Savior. Help us shine with the light of Christ and draw souls to Jesus. We ask this in the name of Jesus, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Amen.

The Carrying of the Cross

Our inspiring friend shows us how to walk with Jesus.  Our contrition is His consolation.

For the Sake of His Sorrowful Passion: The Carrying of the Cross

Precious Blood covers Jesus from His Holy Head to His Sacred Feet,
Condemned to die, He walks past the crowds that line the narrow street.
I scream for Him to not go on, to please not die; but He doesn’t make a sound,
As He bends down to take up the Holy Cross and raise it off the ground.

Carrying the cross, Jesus lifts up the hope and redemption of humanity,
Perfect Love embraces His deathbed that will become the tree of immortality.

I can’t bear His suffering and stand beneath the cross to take away His pain,
Within my heart He assures me that for love and for the cross is why He came.

Jesus consoles my soul that this is not just His will, but also His desire,
To show us the way, to save our souls, and to set our hearts on fire.
My heart breaking, not ready to part with Him, we walk side by side,
He renews my faith that through the Spirit, He will always be alive.
Together we share the burden of the cross, myself the sinner and My God,
He fills me with peace that always with my crosses He will be there to provide.
Anguish and exhaustion do not defeat His will to patiently carry onward,
Falling only to get up again, and again, so that death may be conquered.
For the good of all mankind, He proves that the cross is something to behold,
And that on our life’s winding journey, He will be with us along the road.
Grateful and contrite, I reconcile my sins to the cross of Love and Sacrifice,
For its wonder endures forever and leads to life with Jesus in paradise.
