Our Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, hear our prayer:

Please weave the women of St. Raphael into a beautiful tapestry of faith and friendship. Let us be woven by your Holy Spirit with our eyes and hearts set upon Christ our Savior. Help us shine with the light of Christ and draw souls to Jesus. We ask this in the name of Jesus, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Amen.

For the Sake of His Sorrowful Passion: The Scourging at the Pillar

Posted by our humble poet

As Jesus comes before the pillar, with strength provided from The Father above,

Bound are His hands that broke the bread of His body and shared the wine of His blood.

Defenseless and submissive to the scourging His holy body is to endure,

For souls of mankind who are bound to sin, hatred, evil, and that which is impure.

The innocence of His flesh and Heart makes me desperate to stop the iniquity,

Because it should be I that stands there instead for the sake of my own complicity.

So I cover His body with mine as the whip lashes with fury across His back,

And hold Him close as He suffers the sins of man with every violent attack.

Possessed, the soldiers unleash the wickedness of hell onto Jesus through a demon,

As the perfect Son of God absorbs the horror and pain out of love and for our freedom.

Again, and again, as without end, His flesh is ripped in stripes of condemnation,

While the Precious Blood of Christ pours out bringing for sinners their salvation.

I protest with my tears and clinging to Him feel His compassion and humble consent,

To the will of The Father -His will too- for immeasurable love, such torment.

I succumb with Him for the gravity of my sin that this is God’s perfect plan,

For the depth of His infinite love to be revealed through the slaughter of The Lamb.

By His Wounds, He came to save us and testify of His mercy and forgiveness,

And remind us that we are ever loved by Him in our failings and our weakness.

Embracing Jesus I commit to Him, my faint heart filled with hurt and temptation,

And open to receive healing Love that purifies and renders liberation.
