Our Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, hear our prayer:

Please weave the women of St. Raphael into a beautiful tapestry of faith and friendship. Let us be woven by your Holy Spirit with our eyes and hearts set upon Christ our Savior. Help us shine with the light of Christ and draw souls to Jesus. We ask this in the name of Jesus, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Amen.

The split second that changed everything

The first in a three part series of a testimony of The Society of Saint Vincent De Paul/St. Raphael Conference

There are so many angels among us,  acting through us, when we help our neighbor in their time of need.   Being a recipient of help from complete strangers was a life transforming experience for me.

Several years ago, my husband and I were on a 10 hour car trip taking our daughter to college.  In a split second, our lives were changed forever when our car rolled over three times across all the lanes of the highway.

Miraculously, the three of us are still alive.  The car was totaled and all of my daughter's belongings were forced out of the car and strewn along the highway median.  We were blessed when Good Samaritans - a family also taking their son to college, stopped and collected all the belongings off the highway.  This wonderful family helped us without a thought of their own safety or becoming a witness to the accident scene.

Yes, angels were all around and God miraculously saved my daughter, husband and my life that day.

So I began to ask myself, what is my purpose on the earth according to God’s plan?

How could I give back to others as He wants us to do?
