Our Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, hear our prayer:

Please weave the women of St. Raphael into a beautiful tapestry of faith and friendship. Let us be woven by your Holy Spirit with our eyes and hearts set upon Christ our Savior. Help us shine with the light of Christ and draw souls to Jesus. We ask this in the name of Jesus, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Amen.

Lessons full of joy in the learning

You've read about the car trip that changed my life and started my journey to becoming a member of SVdP at St. Raphael.

What has being a Vincentian taught me?

I am humbled me to see the face of Our Lord in the eyes of people we serve. They are so thankful. Their multiple needs are so clear and the simple answer is usually the right one.

I've learned compassion and trust in God to provide for discernment and need.

I've learned empathy and a thorough understanding of the phrase, “There but by the grace of God go I”.

I've learned to listen attentively with kindness to the Holy Spirit and to anyone and everyone that God puts in my path.

I've learned the simple joy of helping others and that God will not be outdone in generosity.  Helping other takes nothing away from me, but only adds to the graces I receive from God -

Moreover, God is able to make every grace abundant for you, so that in all things, always having all you need, you may have an abundance for every good work.  2 Corinthians 9:8

Come Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and kindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created . And You shall renew the face of the earth.

And a mini-Litany of Saints who have shown us how to share Christ's love with others:

St. Vincent de Paul, pray for us.
Blessed Frederic Ozanam, pray for us.
Blessed Rosalie Rendu, pray for us.
St.Louise de Marillac, pray for us.
Amen

  1. Thank you for the inspiring reflection on how God turned a terrifying experience in your life into a blessing that is multiplied in its fruits through humility and the selfless service to others. It truly reflects the goodness of God, the depth of His mercy, and the power of the Holy Spirit!
