Catholic marriage, also called matrimony, is a "covenant by which a man and a woman establish between themselves a partnership of the whole of life and which is ordered by its nature to the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of offspring. [It] has been raised by Christ the Lord to the dignity of a sacrament between the baptised."
The Maryland Marriage Alliance is a grassroots, non-partisan, interfaith coalition dedicated to preserving the traditional definition of marriage in Maryland law. The Maryland Marriage Alliance is supported by the Maryland Family Alliance, the Maryland Catholic Conference, and the National Organization for Marriage, and is the leading entity in Maryland focused solely to the preservation of marriage.
As you may be aware last week at St. Raphael’s we had tables set up outside the church after mass for any and all who wish to participate and sign the petition in support of keeping the sacrament of Matrimony between a man and a woman. We will once again be available after Mass should the Holy Spirit move you to participate. Should any of you prayerfully wish to circulate the website below to friends and family that you know share the same belief, we encourage you to do so. In the event that you have questions or wish to be involved further please feel free to contact Sandy Shamburek for more information at 301-762-2143.
Have a blessed day
