Our Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, hear our prayer:

Please weave the women of St. Raphael into a beautiful tapestry of faith and friendship. Let us be woven by your Holy Spirit with our eyes and hearts set upon Christ our Savior. Help us shine with the light of Christ and draw souls to Jesus. We ask this in the name of Jesus, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Amen.

Courage in the face of Desolation

~gina

“Courage does not always roar, sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying I will try again tomorrow”
~MAR

Reflection:
Courage is something that I have personally come to know very intimately in my life. There has been quite an evolution in its meaning however as I have journeyed closer to the Lord. In the past courage is what got me through the day, held back the tears, hardened my heart, kept me at a safe distance from those around me, including God. It was courage that kept me alone in the boat rowing desperately and getting nowhere. By the grace of God and with His enormous capacity for patience,  I found myself on my knees in front of Him in total surrender, several times, each occasion coming one step closer to courage and its true meaning…
God give me the courage to be vulnerable
God give me the courage to be helpless
God give me the courage to be trusting
God give me the courage to be human and imperfect
God give me the courage to surrender to You completely and graciously
God give me the courage to live Your will even when it does not fit my agenda, for You are the Way the Truth and the Life

Prayer to Mary:

The Memorare
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known
that anyone who fled to your protection,
implored your help, or sought your intercession
was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence I fly to you,
O Virgin of Virgins, my Mother!
To you I come; before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word incarnate, despise not my petitions,
But, in your mercy, hear and answer me.
~Amen
