Our Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, hear our prayer:

Please weave the women of St. Raphael into a beautiful tapestry of faith and friendship. Let us be woven by your Holy Spirit with our eyes and hearts set upon Christ our Savior. Help us shine with the light of Christ and draw souls to Jesus. We ask this in the name of Jesus, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Amen.

The BEST....ever!

When a friend recommends something to you as the 'best', doesn't that grab your attention?  The BEST fat free ice cream - I'll try it!  The BEST way to manage all of the children's art work and school papers - I definitely want to know that.  We especially respect the BEST recommendations of someone with much experience and expertise.

Monsignor Gatto said in his homily that he saw on EWTN the BEST exposition (systematic explanation) of the Book of Revelation that he'd ever heard.  Better even than the courses he took in seminary!  The BEST because the program clearly explained how many of the unusual and mysterious references in Revelation are actually descriptions of the Holy Mass.  What a fascinating opportunity for us to understand Sacred Scripture and love more the Holy Mass.

The EWTN program Monsignor enjoyed so much and recommends to us is...
... The Lamb's Supper - a presentation by Catholic biblical scholar Dr. Scott Hahn and Catholic author Mike Acquilina from Dr. Hahn's book of the same title.  And lucky you, even if you didn't catch the show on EWTN, you can listen to the audio version.

Mike Acquilina also co-authored with Donald Cardinal Wuerl the new book, The Mass - The Glory, the Mystery, the Tradition.  The book is a great refresher on the elements Mass and includes the translations from the New Roman Missal.  The more you read and reflect on the Mass the more you can understand that it is indeed Heaven on Earth!

A last word from St. Padre Pio, "The world could exist more easily without the sun than without the Mass."
