Our Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, hear our prayer:

Please weave the women of St. Raphael into a beautiful tapestry of faith and friendship. Let us be woven by your Holy Spirit with our eyes and hearts set upon Christ our Savior. Help us shine with the light of Christ and draw souls to Jesus. We ask this in the name of Jesus, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Amen.

Wounded Hands of Jesus

Posted by our anonymous poet

Behold the sacrifice of the Lamb—

The Son of God, the great I AM.

And hold His Holy Hands that bless and heal,

Pierced for our sins with nails of steel.

His Hands that reached out and cured the lame,

Gave sight to the blind and removed our shame.

Jesus, in agony that hope may be restored,

Endures as the giver of all grace and every reward.

Slowly, I take His Hands into mine,

The hands of a sinner touch the Divine.

The nails for when we strike out against each other,

In anger and rage a brother against brother.

And sorrow for those who are abandoned,

Intolerant, resentful, and who lack compassion.

Hand in hand, misery and remedy, I grasp the price,

Jesus took the blame to give us eternal life.

Ever-present Lord never lets us go,

And binds to the cross and every hurtful blow.

Murder and theft, He carries that too,

Every wicked deed of our hands is all in His view.

Yet Jesus gives Himself and proclaims paradise to inherit,

Providing a way for all to be saved by His Wounds and merit!

Perfect Love we may turn to Him like the “good thief",

Ever trusting in God’s mercy to find relief.

I rest in Jesus, who holds me in His Hands,

And pray my will is His in thoughts, actions, and plans.

That I may be strengthened to serve others and have self-control,

And gently wipe away tears and bring healing to a soul.

Jesus shows us not only how to live, but also how to die and make amends,

“Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.”

In faith I surrender before the cross, and in belief I kneel,

Crying "My Lord and my God!" Your wounded Hands reveal.
