Our Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, hear our prayer:

Please weave the women of St. Raphael into a beautiful tapestry of faith and friendship. Let us be woven by your Holy Spirit with our eyes and hearts set upon Christ our Savior. Help us shine with the light of Christ and draw souls to Jesus. We ask this in the name of Jesus, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Amen.

Sixth Words From the Cross

By Anonymous

As stillness paralyzes the earth, those left at the cross stand mesmerized,
Gazing at the sight of Love’s wondrous display in Christ crucified.
Looking at His Holy Face, I offer Him all my praise for He is most worthy,
And He loves me with eyes that speak of undying hope and mercy.

After taking the vinegar, Jesus declares, “It is finished.”
Claiming a victorious end and start of a new beginning.
An end to the torments of the cross where He suffered and bled,
Making possible the rising to eternal life as He bows His Head.

Triumph at the cross is the completion of the Father’s will,
That Jesus brings to perfection and glory on Calvary Hill.
Bearing our sins on His Body, our spiritual death, and punishment,
Jesus gives His Life to establish the new and everlasting covenant.

To the cross we come and surrender, where sorrow and rejoicing collide,
Trusting that the Father who first loved us, won’t cast us aside.
There at His Feet, the weakness of flesh and strength of divine are unconcealed,
Through the Passion and the Cross of Christ where by His wounds we are healed.

Grateful at the cross, for Jesus who takes away the sins of the world,
For God who is Love, and that Love is freely mine to have and behold.
Into a world of sin and darkness Jesus came for its power to destroy,

So that when indeed it is finished for me, there may be only joy.
