The dryness of death envelops Jesus like a desert without
rain,
Kneeling beside Jesus, I am in awe that God would choose to
suffer,
Still desperate to do anything that brings my Lord relief
and comfort.
“I thirst.” Gasps Jesus, imploring mankind for the
refreshment of love,
Is the dying wish of Our Savior that endlessly echoes from
above.
And for His insatiable and anguished plea, they offer Him
sour wine,
From the branches that are withered to The One who is the
vine.
The mystery of the cross is revealed in Jesus’ hungry cry,
A final word of love and yearning as He is about to die.
His Sacred Heart that so loved man arid from hate and
rejection,
Still burning with eternal, perfect love and starving for
our affection.
To the cross we run and rest our hearts in Jesus’ embrace,
Exchanging love for love from the depths of our souls is
God’s amazing grace.
The cross invites us to communion and becomes a sacred
altar,
The proof of God’s great love for us and source of Living
Water.
On my knees at the cross, I commit to Jesus my life, my
soul, and my heart,
Knowing that He longs for me and desires that we never be
apart.
My weak heart Jesus beckons to His that I come, be filled,
and adore-
And drink from the fountain of Love that pours from the
cross and receive all that I’m wanting for.
