"Like a shepherd He feeds His flock; in His arms he carries the lambs, Carrying them in His bosom, leading the ewes with care." Isaiah 40:11
As an artist, I love word pictures. Images in my head that tell the story without words. One of my favorite images that pops into my head as I pray for another person
or one of my children is lifting them up into the lap of a Jesus to just sit with Him.
or one of my children is lifting them up into the lap of a Jesus to just sit with Him.
It's a BIG lap, (I forget sometimes that He can hold the whole world) and too high for us little souls to reach on our own. So images illustrate for me that the prayers of others lift us high unto His healing lap where there is comfort, healing and peace.
What hurt child doesn't love to crawl into the warmth of a parents' lap?
Author Linda Schubert writes "Choose to believe that He is
now standing before you with His hands on your head as a fatherly benediction.
Or believe He is holding you in His arms, as a shepherd holds a baby lamb; or
as a mother or father hold their sleeping child. As He holds you close, He speaks a blessing
into your life... In the warmth of His arms, tell Him now, 'Lord, I receive.' "
“Amen, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven."
Matthew 18:3
You're invited to the Eucharistic Healing service on Tuesday, June 3rd at 7:30pm in the Church. Confessions start at 7:00pm.
