Human Dignity
“Catholic
social teaching believes that human beings, created in the image and likeness
of God (Genesis 1:26-27),
have by their
very existence an inherent value, worth, and distinction”. Daniel Groody
“Globalization, Spirituality and Justice”
Our sense of
dignity is affirmed when our uniqueness is recognized and valued by those
around us, as we all become global citizens.
As the summer comes to an end I welcome the opportunity to approach the upcoming year
with a new energy! It will be a year full of RFL updates and activities as we strive to help those around us truly
appreciate and understand the dignity of the human person both big and small,
young and old. There was a flurry of activity over the summer as our champions
for life continued their campaigns to foster awareness in regards to life,
liberty and the ability to pursue and retain our right to religious freedom.
Helen Alvare continued to spread her message on Capitol Hill via Women Speakfor Themselves while Lila Rose and Live Action took on the main stream media in an effort to
expose the unjust censorship of what is occurring across this country and globe
in regards to the culture of death and agenda of the abortion industry.
Andrew Glenn, Regional Director of Maryland Coalition for Life, tirelessly
continued his work to bring about a culture of LIFE in Maryland and David Bereit, National Director of 40 Days for Life, kept us united and
informed of historic closings of abortion clinics across the country. Then of
course there are all of you who sacrifice your time and devote your attention
to helping others in the myriad of ways that you do. Inspired by the many
people courageous enough to lead us, let us continue to challenge ourselves as
we begin a new year, Lord please guide us as we seek to step up our individual
efforts to live the life that God wants for us and to let His will lead and
light our way. God bless you all!
