Our Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, hear our prayer:

Please weave the women of St. Raphael into a beautiful tapestry of faith and friendship. Let us be woven by your Holy Spirit with our eyes and hearts set upon Christ our Savior. Help us shine with the light of Christ and draw souls to Jesus. We ask this in the name of Jesus, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Amen.

Mother Angelica: The Remarkable Story of a Nun, Her Nerve, and a Network of Miracles

Posted by Alina

I just read this book about Mother Angelica, by Raymond Arroyo.  It is such a well-written biography, and what a page-turning life, just doing one-thing-at-a-time, as God asked of her.

She is an amazing woman.  Mother Angelica took on the opinions of leaders who were misled, challenged them, and stood up for what she knew God wanted.  She just lived such a prayerful life, suffered, experienced miracles (physical & spiritual), and meanwhile built the whole EWTN network, and Catholic Radio Station that we listen to now - just by listening to God, one thing at a time.

I think young women who read her book (and who may have considered it by 1%), would be inspired into devoting their own lives as nuns too!  It is so inspiring, and encouraging for me and anyone to keep on trekking. Stand up for what you believe, and know is right or wrong.  and to say it.

Wow, what a bold woman!

The book read so fast, that I finished it in less than a week.  I couldn't put it down, so I had a few days of staying up pretty late.  It left me with many current-day miraculous stories to share with my kids...and now they have an appreciation for Mother Angelica too.
