Our Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, hear our prayer:

Please weave the women of St. Raphael into a beautiful tapestry of faith and friendship. Let us be woven by your Holy Spirit with our eyes and hearts set upon Christ our Savior. Help us shine with the light of Christ and draw souls to Jesus. We ask this in the name of Jesus, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Amen.

How Loud Would the Silence Be?

Posted by Alina

The Pope's Request for Prayer and Fasting -
The Pope has made a global petition asking all men of good will to fast and pray the whole day of Sept. 7, for World Peace, particularly in Syria.  The Vatican will hold a Vigil of the birth of Mary, Queen of Peace, from 7pm-Midnight on Saturday, Sept. 7.

What if...
Then, I heard the best "What If..." on Catholic Radio (which I cannot remember verbatim) -
What if the absence of every person supporting Peace was known, by the loud silence outside, in the stores, and in the restaurants?
What if so many Christians were observing silence from 7pm-Midnight on Saturday (Sept. 7, 2013) in prayerful support for peace, particularly in Syria?  What if, in that time, we are at home talking to our kids about the importance of peace in the world, and reading from the Bible together?

I then realized...this is possible!  What if everyone who reads this little idea considers it?  What if we each chose to be at home in silent prayer on Saturday - or joined in praying the Rosary for Peace together at St. Raphael's, after the 5pm Mass? How great would it be if we could help support peace starting today?

It was just an idea, but it is an amazing idea.  and one that just starts with each single person or family, that it sounds doable for each of us.  I couldn't sleep without putting it out there...in hopes that we can create a loud silence on Saturday...
