Our Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, hear our prayer:

Please weave the women of St. Raphael into a beautiful tapestry of faith and friendship. Let us be woven by your Holy Spirit with our eyes and hearts set upon Christ our Savior. Help us shine with the light of Christ and draw souls to Jesus. We ask this in the name of Jesus, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Amen.

The Hope Inside

Posted by our anonymous poet for Pentecost Sunday

Somewhere within our being, as part of God’ plan,
Lives the Holy Spirit to move the heart of man.

Unity with this Spirit sets a soul on fire,
That burns with love to fulfill The Father’s desire.

But the path for children of God, is narrow and deceiving,
With temptation, lies, and discouragement, it is weaving.

God sent the Holy Spirit to lead in The Truth and The Light,
To help, teach, and remind us of His Word and His might.

For strength on this path I pray the Spirit to make my soul new,
To be blessed with God’s gifts that fall down like the dew.

For the fear of the Lord I pray, and live for my Maker,
To not be separated from Him I love through my labor.

For piety I pray, striving for perfection of religion,
To gladly serve my King and open my heart to quiet listen.

For knowledge I pray, to see through the eyes of The Lord,
And live for His purpose— by my free-will— for His accord.

For fortitude I pray, that I have the strength to carry forth,
Actions inspired through counsel giving God all He is worth.

For counsel I pray, to let go of discouragement and fears,
In defending what I believe in spite of any sneers.

For understanding I pray, that my faith is ever confident,
To proclaim the essence of truth as a Catholic apologist.

For wisdom I pray, to love all He has done for His sake alone,
And order my worldly life to The One seated at the throne.

Through these gifts of the Holy Spirit I hope fruit will grow—
Charity, joy, peace, patience, and kindness, God may bestow.
That my soul increases in goodness, generosity, and gentleness—
By His grace— modesty, self-control, chastity, and faithfulness.

I commend myself to the Spirit so my life may be directed,
Through love and seeking The Lord, all my actions are affected.

Living for His glory alone is where I find happiness,
To be Christ to others and testify as His witness.

Renewed and urged to a life where peace fills my soul,
Allowing the Spirit to teach, advocate, and console.

The loving Consoler supplies the courage to persevere,
Especially through suffering and when God doesn’t seem near.

The merciful Advocate enlivens unending praise,
Reminding of The Father’s constant love and presence in our days.

Thanks be to God’s for His infinite wisdom to give us a guide,
This quiet and sanctifying Teacher is my Hope inside!
