Join the Mothers of Young Children for a Book Club of Style, Sex, and Substance: 10 Catholic Women Consider the Things that Really Matter edited by Hallie Lord.
We will continue to have Play and Pray every Thursday, but we will set aside the second Thursday of the month to discuss what we have read. If you would like to participate, read the first three chapters and come to the first Play and Pray discussion on January 10, and feel free to invite other women to join whether they have children at home or in school, or not at all, every woman is invited to this book club!
The first three chapters are:
"How I fell out of my minivan and found myself" by Jennifer Fulwiler
"Style: Balance, Beauty, and You" by Hallie Lord
"God and Godiva" by Karen Edmisten
Who is to say who the authentic Catholic woman is?
And how do the perils and pitfalls of modern society impact that vision?

You can get a copy of the book online at Our Sunday Visitor ,(or Amazon, but I'm trying to promote a Catholic business!) or in person at the book store at Our Lady of Bethesda retreat center. If you cannot get this book for any reason but want to participate, please let Mary Singleton (mpksingleton@yahoo.com) know. We'll provide hot coffee, comfy couches, and boxes of toys to keep the kids busy, and a great time!
