Our Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, hear our prayer:

Please weave the women of St. Raphael into a beautiful tapestry of faith and friendship. Let us be woven by your Holy Spirit with our eyes and hearts set upon Christ our Savior. Help us shine with the light of Christ and draw souls to Jesus. We ask this in the name of Jesus, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Amen.

Mothers, Teens, and Tea

Posted by Annie

A large and time consuming aspect of youth ministry is event planning. It’s certainly not often that an event is planned, packaged, tied with a bow, and placed in your lap.   However, that is exactly what happened to me when Women of Grace proposed a special event for the teens of the Ignite Youth Group and their mothers!

The Women of Grace program has been such a blessing in our parish, and I was immediately excited at the prospect to bring this idea of authentic Catholic femininity to our young ladies.

The Women of Grace for Teens event will include multimedia presentations on four specific themes from Women of Grace: the special call and gift of woman, Mary as role model, true friendship, and true love. Discussion time for teens and their mothers will provide an opportunity to discuss their common joys and struggles as women, and cultivate a relationship rooted in faith.

The Trumpet Room will be transformed into the setting for tea party for this event on May 22 from 3:00-5:45pm. Many women and teens from the parish have generously offered scones, sandwiches, and tea sets to enhance the tea party atmosphere.

Young women between eighth grade and college are invited to attend with their mothers, aunts, grandmothers, or other female role models.

To ensure a spot, please RSVP to Annie McHugh amchugh@straphaels.org by May 11. We hope to see you for this combination of femininity, spirituality, tea, and friendship – all of the makings for a lovely afternoon!
