Our Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, hear our prayer:

Please weave the women of St. Raphael into a beautiful tapestry of faith and friendship. Let us be woven by your Holy Spirit with our eyes and hearts set upon Christ our Savior. Help us shine with the light of Christ and draw souls to Jesus. We ask this in the name of Jesus, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Amen.

Spiritual Adoption

Posted by Gina

RFL Committee launches Spiritual Adoption Program: What is Spiritual Adoption?  It is very simple.  Participants in the Spiritual Adoption Program pledge to pray for nine months for a baby in danger of abortion.  While this child will remain unknown to his or her ‘spiritual parent’, God knows who the child is.  Please join us by printing and cutting out this prayer card and committing to pray the ten-second prayer daily for your “adopted child”.

You are also encouraged to name your baby and give him or her identity. At the end of the nine-month period we will celebrate the "birth" of our spiritually adopted babies by collecting items needed by the local pregnancy center, such as diapers or formula. Our prayers in combination with our gift will help the mother as she brings to term a beautiful gift of life. Look for updates in the bulletin the last Sunday of every month that describes your spiritually adopted baby’s growth and progress! May God bless you and your loved ones as you begin this journey that by the grace of God will bear the fruit of life, nine months from now as we also celebrate the birth of our Savior.

Day One, Life Begins- Already, your spiritually adopted baby is a wonder!  Even though she is only one cell, everything about this little person is already present: eye color, blood type, how tall she will be, hair color-everything!  This baby will play a role in our community only she can play!  This baby’s parents do not even know she exists yet—please pray for them to safely bring their baby to birth so she can fulfill the mission God has planned for her.
