I am not a runner...nor have I ever been, but I finally registered myself for a 10k. I walk regularly, and could walk a 10k tomorrow, but I will need to run part of it to make the 1 hr 33 min required finishing time.
That may seem like a simple goal for some, but it may be a challenge for me.
Some of you may know that I am the parish vocations representative, and am captaining the St. Raphael Run for Vocations team.
The Run for Vocations is conducted as part of the Marine Corps Marathon and 10k in October, with funds raised going to support the formation of our seminarians.

I am running for the priests who listen, who teach, and who bring us forgiveness.
I am running for the priests who gave my husband's grandmother Last Rites on a moment's notice.
I am running for a lot of reasons, but most of all,
I am running for the priests who bring us
Christ Himself in the Eucharist.

Will you join me in this endeavor? You can run, run/walk (like me), donate, and of course, pray! Please contact me if you have any questions or would like to be involved.Whether you run or not, another beautiful way to support vocations is to join the Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Vocations Society. Its really simple, you just agree to pray for vocations! You can also receive a special vocations newsletter and invitations to special events such as Days of Reflection and Holy Hours.
You will certainly be inspired to pray (and maybe even to run) by this stunning video of the 2011 priest ordinations, featuring our own new parochial vicar, Father Agustin Lopez-Espinoso!

I'm running!
