Our Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, hear our prayer:

Please weave the women of St. Raphael into a beautiful tapestry of faith and friendship. Let us be woven by your Holy Spirit with our eyes and hearts set upon Christ our Savior. Help us shine with the light of Christ and draw souls to Jesus. We ask this in the name of Jesus, through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Amen.

Spirituality in the Home

We were blessed with a talk from Father Charlie about spirituality in the home.  Father gave a brief theology of the family, the visible sign of the very love of God.  He reminded us of the wonderful example the Holy Family is for us of being open to the will of God in our vocations as spouses and parents.

O Holy Family, pray for us!

Father gave many suggestions on keep our homes as domestic churches such as blessing the house with holy water and placing crucifixes and images of the angels and saints in your home

To guide our children in holiness, Father recommended blessing our children each day before they head off to school.  We should also set the example for a deep prayer life by praying the Holy Rosary together as a family.  In addition to celebrating each child's birthday, Father reminded us that we can also celebrate the feast day of the saints for whom our children are named.  You can research the saints at this site:  http://www.americancatholic.org/Features/Saints/byname.aspx

Most importantly, our families should attend Sunday Mass together.
